Who is Womensport and Recreation NSW?

Womensport and Recreation NSW (WRNSW) is a non-government incorporated organization that advocates, lobbies, promotes and raises awareness about the needs and issues affecting women and girls in sport and recreation.  As such it is for all women across NSW.  It is the only one of its type in NSW, recognized as the peak leadership body by the NSW government.  It is across all sports and physical activities. WRNSW organizes events/programs to achieve its stated aims and has a reputation for delivering on its programs.

Mission Statement  -

Our mission is to promote participation, access and equity for all women and girls through sport and recreation to sustain a healthy and active lifestyle.

Vision Statement -

To continue as a sustainable, viable and relevant lobby group for women and girls in sport and recreation, through the development of working partnerships and strong alliances.

ARNSW aim -

WRNSW aims to be a sustainable, viable and relevant organization that develops other sources of funding and so becomes less reliant on government grants.  It can do this through developing strong partnerships and alliances, building on the current base of loyal supporters and sponsors.  It aims to increase membership and membership diversity, to increase staff and office volunteers as well as involve high profile athletes, coaches and administrators more frequently in the organization.

The organisation was formed in 1995 as a membership based non-government volunteer organisation to provide programs and services to increase female participation in all aspects of the sport and active recreation industry.
