Schoolgirls'
Breakfasts with the Stars
The
aim of the breakfasts is to utilise positive sporting role
models to inspire and motivate high school girls to continue
their involvement in sport and physical activity.
|
 |
The
first breakfast was held in October 1998 at the Sydney University
Women's Sports Association Gymnasium with over 260 attendees.
Through community support, we are able to provide this breakfast
at a low cost for schoolgirls to attend. Building upon its success
each year, there has been a minimum of two breakfasts per year
- one in a regional area (where role models are even scarcer)
and the major event in Sydney. These events have been widely publicised
and presented in various articles, magazines, forums and conferences
...as far as Netherlands and the 2002 World Conference on Women
and Sports held in Canada. [READ
